Zest Innovation
An established house clearance company wanted to maintain and ideally grow its business operations across southern Wales amongst stiff competition, we worked with them to understand where we could help.
They covered a large area of south Wales but we initially focussed on helping them gain more enquiries in Cardiff and Bridgend as they were two main cities with easy access between them using the M4. Even though they had their existing website which had been published many years ago it lacked structure to attract the right variety of online enquiries looking for the services they offered.
We initially started our work covering the services which as well as house clearance also included garden clearance in Bridgend. Whilst this is a fairly seasonal service it was one which hadn't gained as much traction as they had hoped in that area of Wales. We set about developing content to gain enquiries for that particular service as well as the main ones such as bereavement clearance and clearing general hoarded rubbish, which would otherwise take weeks if drip fed through council fortnightly bin collections.
We also talked about the comparison with skips and tried to get a good understanding of how to pitch a house clearance company against a skip hire company as certain customer search terms may bring either as an option. However, we wanted to focus on the house clearance benefits when this option was presented and provide content so a potential customer could make an educated decision on which would be most suitable for them (with a little bias towards the house clearance company option).
Another key area to focus on was bulky item collection, this was a very popular search term with sub searches for removing mattresses, sofas and furniture so we set about trying to get enquiries for this. What we had to be mindful when looking at search terms is the searchers intent. Clearly if a searcher was asking about council rubbish collections we wouldn't want to be generating enquiries to the house clearance company for people wanting reminders of when their standard bin collection was due. This area was a fine line between relevant and not so relevant enquiries so focussed on very specific terms which inferred that the enquiry was not about council involvement.
Enquiries continue to increase by including a
house clearance service in Barry ensuring all are kept busy we didn't want to provide a rubbish service ourselves!
